Iñaki Garcia Elcano

Iñaki was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. He studied Physics at the Autonomous University of Madrid where he also conducted his Ph.D studies. These focused on exploring the quantum optics phenomena resulting from the coupling of light emitters to topological photons. His research has thus followed a multidisciplinary approach, combining different areas that range from condensed matter and AMO physics to photonics and quantum optics. During his time at Columbia, Iñaki will delve further into all these topics by investigating the physics of correlated light-matter interfaces and the collective quantum many-body effects that emerge from them.
