Federico was born in Torino, but grew up in Palermo where he obtained the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. He then moved to Torino where he obtained the Master’s Degree in Mathematics. In 2015, he was accepted into the Elite Master Course in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at Ludwig Maximilian University & Technical University of Munich, where he graduated in 2018. After that he moved back to Palermo for his PhD, studying non-Hermitian effects in quantum optics, which he completed in 2022. In March 2022 he joined the University of Luxembourg, where he worked on dissipative quantum chaos and many-body localization. In 2023, Federico was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship, granted by the U.S.-Italy Fulbright commission, with which he joined Columbia University. He is now investigating the effects of nonlinearities in waveguide QED systems.
